We turn not older with years, but newer every day.

another birthday for me. another reason to be thankful. another beautiful day with my family.
i had a wonderful weekend. i went bowling and shopping. i took an afternoon nap! i spent a lovely day off in the city with my mother where we took in the MOMA and had a fabulous meal at Fig & Olive . i read 20 pages of a book! The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao -seems like a good one so far.
and let me not forget, i took my first sewing class! the actual set up which i was so daunted by is actually a bit easier than i thought. it felt so good to hear that needle stitch. it is very therapeutic. i found that my machine is a little moody though which is something i need to figure out since it is a brand new machine. but overall, i think i am going to like it! i will keep you updated on my projects.
here is my cute to boot sewing machine along with it's hefty manual and a million buttons and settings. good thing i'm slightly techy.
my other big project this week is finally updating my portfolio online ( melaniesullivandesigner.com ). ugh. what a chore but worth it in the long run. besides, it was on my 2010 to do list and i will get to cross it off - invigorating. ( confession: sometimes i write something on my to do lists that i've already done, just to cross it off - i know, crazy )

Happy Birthday! I hope year 33 is a lucky one for you, Melly!
I've always wanted to learn to sew and haven't used a sewing machine in years. I bet the machines are so much nicer and easier to use now.
Hope you'll share some of your sewing projects.
