back to school

the summer has officially ended. eden painted this watercolor the day before her first day of school. it is a sunset and such an appropriate image for the end of another busy summer.

already i see such a change in my daughter. a subtle pulling away. no more waves as the bus drives away and acting "cool" at the bus stop. what are we mamas supposed to do? i guess simply be the example that we want our daughters to follow and then we have no choice but to sit back and watch and hope that our guidance and gentle pushes in a moral direction will pay off. what a job we have! 

well, it seems the weather has also shifted into fall mode. hace frio! i am hoping for some nice autumn walks at the hook before it gets too cold. i love a september walk along the river.
